Typefaces

I began creating typefaces in early 1988 as an MFA student at CalArts. There wasn’t a lot of variety in fonts available for the Mac at the time, so I figured I could make my own. Once I got my hands on a copy of Fontographer, I stayed up all night, learning how to use the software. In the morning, I had a font, which I named Barry Sans, to get that over with.

In the following year, I would design a handful of typefaces and leave them on the computers in the Mac lab at school, including Template Gothic, released by Emigre in 1992.

Here are some typefaces. I’ll be adding more.
